Annual Oakhurst Cemetery Cleanup – Clarksville VA – March 18, 2024 – March 22, 2024

A cleanup of the cemetery is scheduled for March 18, 2024 through March 22, 2024.  Please collect and remove all flowers, ornaments, tributes, receptacles, flags, glass/ceramic figurines, solar lights, photos, frames and any other personal tributes that you wish to keep.  All remaining items left at the gravesite will be discarded.

Re:  As adjoining or adjacent property owners to 107 Third Street, Clarksville, Va., you are hereby notified of the following:

 The Town of Clarksville Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, March 28th, 2024 at 5 pm at the Town Council Chambers, located @ 325 Virginia Ave.  The purpose of the hearing is to consider a Zoning Variance by Pittard Properties LLC, Parcel Record Number # 21952.   The owner is requesting a variance to allow the construction of two additional residential units on a lot that does not meet the minimum square footage requirements for a B2 property.

BURNING LAW IN BRIEF:

1.   No burning until after 4:00 p.m. if the fire is within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or field containing dry grass or other inflammable material.

2.   Fire must be attended at all times if the fire is within 150 feet of woodland or other dry fuel leading to woodland.

3.   No fuel may be added or fire started after midnight.

4.   Law applies to campfires, warming fires, brush piles, household trash, stumps, fields of dry grass and brush, or anything capable of spreading fire.

The Town of Clarksville is soliciting bids from qualified firms for the construction of a new 2 story Marina building that will include marina office & marina bathrooms.  Please see the below attachment for a detailed copy of the invitation to bid.     A Non-Madatory PRE-BID MEETING will be held on February 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. at 321 Virginia Avenue in Clarksville, VA.  Bid(s) must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “SEALED – CONSTRUCTION OF MARINA BUILDING” to the TOWN OF CLARKSVILLE, Attn:  MR.
